Exquisite Corpse: a drawing game for 2-6 people
Exquisite Corpse is a drawing game (even though it sounds like a makeover show for zombies). It was invented by a group of artists called the Surrealists (more information about them below).
What you need:
A piece of paper
A pen
A brain (any size)
Here's how to play:
Grab a piece of paper and fold it into 3-6 equal sections depending on how many people you have.
The first person draws a HEAD in the top section.
Fold your section over so the next person CAN'T see it. But draw two teeny lines poking over the fold so they know how to join their drawing.
The second person draws a BODY. Arms, torso, branches, whatever. Fold it over. Add two tiny lines so the next person knows where the legs start.
The third person draws the LEGS and FEET, Flippers, rollerskates etc
Unfold the paper.
Behold your new and completely unhinged creature.
Nobody knows what the others drew until the very end. That's the whole point.
NOTE: If you have more than three people, you have to break the body up into smaller steps. So instead of 1. head 2. body 3. legs. Do 1. hat, 2. head, 3. body and arms 4. legs 5. feet 6. ground.
If you have a big group why not have more than one on the go at once! Make a bunch!
GROWN UPS: You may need to help explain the bit about drawing slightly over the fold so the next artist knows where to start the drawing.
WANT TO KEEP GOING?
Now you have your creatures it’s time to learn more about them: What is thier name? Do they have super powers? Can you think of an adventure they could go on?
